On April 5, 2018, Fundación Global Nature (FGN) presented the first results of LIFE AgriAdapt on the vulnerability to climate change of arable crops of the Mediterranean Region in a Seminar of the National Plan of Adaptation to Climate Change (PNACC) organized by LIFE-SHARA (Fundación Biodiversidad, FB, Spanish Office for Climate Change OECC, CENEAM-OAPN, SG Herbaceous Cultures, Industrial and Olive Oil of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment).

After the presentation of results, a demonstration workshop was held, through a half-day visit to one of arable crops pilot farms of LIFE AgriAdapt, located in Segovia, Melque de Cercos, where the farmer and FGN explained in-situ the main impacts, vulnerability and proposals for measures to adapt to climate change that affect arable crops.

The objectives of this sectorial seminar of the PNACC have been to have a picture of arable crops’ current situation in relation to climate change and to promote collaboration among the stakeholders involved. The meeting was attended by more than 50 representatives from different public administrations, R + D + i centers, universities, non-governmental organizations, cooperatives and agrarian associations. During the first day of the meeting, on April 4, FGN actively participated in the Working Groups for the establishment of priorities on arable crops for the future CAP, contributing the knowledge acquired in the framework of LIFE AgriAdapt to establish measures, indicators and possible costs of these measures.
