LIFE AgriAdapt Final Conference – Adaptation of the southern region to climate change

After four years of work, Fundación Global Nature presented the results of the LIFE AgriAdapt project for the Southern Region during a conference organized in Madrid on the 21st January 2020. More than 90 professionals attended this event, and some of them shared their opinion on adaptation, which are compiled in this video.

On 16th of March 2020, the LIFE AgriAdapt project team presented their results and recommendations from 126 pilot farms in Europe and a new innovative webtool to increase farmer’s adaptation competence.

Experiences of an arable farm with climate change

Climate change is leading to a more frequent occurrence of longer periods of drought on the one hand, and to increased extreme precipitation on the other. The manager of the farm “Gräflich von Wisersche Gutsverwaltung” explains which sustainable adaptation measures are being implemented to counteract these extreme weather conditions.

Farms and forests confront climate change in the Mediterranean

Representatives from LIFE projects converged on Madrid, Spain, on 13-14 March to discuss the impact of rising temperatures on agriculture and forestry in the Mediterranean. The two-day platform meeting drew on expertise from LIFE projects, EU policy makers, local authorities and stakeholders in the agro-forest sector to tackle the impact of climate change in an area notoriously exposed to its effects.
