Pilot farms
LIFE AgriAdapt collaborated with 126 farmers all over Europe for 3 years in order to learn, test and support them in the implementation of adaptation solutions at farm level in a way that is as consistent with climate change mitigation as possible. The project focused on the 3 most representative EU farming productions: arable crops, livestock production and permanent crops. Representative farms in each of the four main EU Climate Risk Regions were select and their resilience were assessed. According to the result obtained, individual and specific adaptation measures were suggested and discussed with farmers. All the information was including in individual Action Plans, a roadmap with both short-term and long-term actions for addressing climate change successfully. Each year, the progress was individually assessed and the tool was used for evaluating the improvement achieved in terms of resilience.
